my name is julia monard. but you can call me jupiter. i am drawn to the complex and vast things that often elude capturing. for most of my life, i have been trying to find the right frame, the apt configuration of pixels, or the right order of words to reflect the beauty of human experience.
often, the funnel is too small for such an aspiration. but what i have found is that we don’t need to capture the whole universe.
just a small imprint of it.
the infinite in the infinitesimal.

my approach
my approach is informed by a multidisciplinary background in photography, poetry, film, and collaborative media, and by years of experience photographing portraits, weddings, engagement sessions, and creative projects with emotional truth and energetic sensitivity at the heart.
for me, portraiture is not about imposing an image onto someone, but about creating the conditions for presence, trust, and aliveness to emerge. my approach is gentle, intuitive, and collaborative. my hope is that the experience feels spacious, elevating, and unrushed.
